The Way: God Inspired Advice for Today's Teen
Charles & Stephanie Amey
OUr STory
Charles was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is one of four boys and grew up attending church every Sunday at Fremont Church of Christ. After escaping an adolescence filled with mischief, Charles ended up getting a full-ride track & field scholarship to California State University Sacramento. While at CSU, Sacramento, Charles fell back in love with Christ at Spirit & Truth Church, where he is now a Pastor who specializes in teaching youth and adults on how to grow spiritually. Charles has been in education since 2003 serving as a teacher, coach, mentor, vice principal and currently the principal of Edward Harris, Jr. Middle School in Elk Grove, CA. He earned his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2010 where he developed the A.I.M. Mentor Program. Charles has a relentless passion for improving the lives of students through the power of love and education.
Stephanie grew up in the Bay Area as well, having one brother. She had a strong desire to know the Lord from the age of 9 but lacked the depth of spiritual guidance she longed for. It wasn't until early in college that she began to grow a real relationship with Christ. Her interest in helping the youth stay on the right path actually began as a senior in high school. Stephanie was part of a mentoring program that worked with educating middle schoolers on drugs, alcohol and various areas of peer pressure. While Stephanie felt she lacked this mentorship in her young life, she hopes that she is able to fulfill those voids for as many teens as possible, To continue with mentorship, Stephanie has been teaching (co-leading) children's church at Spirit and Truth Church since 2005, running after school Christian clubs at her children's school and mentoring young adults as God places them on her heart.
Together, Charles and Stephanie have a great degree of wisdom, knowledge and first hand experiences to share, inspire, motivate and encourage today's teen. From city life, college life, teaching, coaching, mentoring and parenting, these two have lived or witnessed the wide range of struggles that life brings.
